What is a Disposable Endotracheal Tube
Disposable endotracheal tubes are sterile, single-use Class II medical devices. They are inserted into the trachea orally or nasally to establish a closed artificial airway, and connected to ventilators or anesthesia machines for mechanical ventilation, airway protection and emergency ventilation.
Structure
Tube body: Medical PVC/PU material, reinforced type with built-in steel wire to prevent kinking; X-ray visible line, length scale and ID marked on surface. Murphy eye at distal tip.
Cuff: High-volume low-pressure cuff below vocal cords, sealing airway and preventing air leakage & aspiration.
Inflation system: Pilot balloon, inflation tube and one-way valve for cuff inflation/deflation.
Proximal connector: Standard 15mm connector for ventilator/anesthesia machine.
Stylet: Auxiliary guide wire for intubation, removable after placement.
Insertion Routes
Orotracheal intubationVia oral cavity → pharynx → glottis → trachea.First choice for emergency rescue, general anesthesia and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Easy operation, large tube diameter.
Nasotracheal intubationVia nasal cavity → nasopharynx → glottis → trachea.Suitable for oral surgery, long-term ICU stay and difficult airway. Well tolerated and easy to fix.
Notes
Sterile disposable device, single use only, not reusable.
