2024-10-29

The use and operation steps of the manual resuscitator are as follows:

Check the patient's physical condition: including age, body position, consciousness, airway patency, whether there are removable dentures or other foreign objects in the mouth, etc.

‌Connect oxygen‌: adjust the flow rate of oxygen to achieve the purpose of inflation.

‌Assist the patient to lie flat‌: tilt the head back, open the collar, and loosen the belt of the pants.

‌Remove foreign objects‌: remove foreign objects and dentures in the patient's mouth (suction technique), and place a nasopharyngeal ventilation tube if necessary.

‌Fix the patient's head‌: The rescuer should place the patient behind the head, lift the patient's head back, and fix the patient's chin upward to ensure the patency of the airway.

‌Use the resuscitation device‌: stick the mask in the manual resuscitation device on the patient's mouth and nose, press the left thumb and index finger tightly on the mask, and the other hand presses tightly on the patient's jaw; the right hand presses the air bag regularly to allow air to enter the lungs.

‌Monitor the patient's condition‌: During the operation, pay close attention to the patient's chest rise and fall, blood oxygen saturation, complexion, and lip changes, and carry out further auxiliary treatment according to the patient's condition.

‌Complete postoperative treatment‌: Help the patient put on clothes and maintain a comfortable posture‌.
